ibs-smart Blood Test Kit (Irritable Bowel Syndrome)

The ibs-smart test measures the levels of two validated inflammatory bowel syndrome (IBS) biomarkers: anti-CdtB and anti-vinculin. These biomarkers are elevated in a majority of IBS patients with diarrheal symptoms and can diagnose diarrhea-predominant or mixed-type IBS (IBS-D or IBS-M). These biomarkers are not commonly elevated in patients with constipation-predominant IBS (IBS-C). Once the kit has been delivered to you, you can take it to a participating lab near you to get the blood draw done. The blood sample then needs to be returned to the ibs-smart lab by mail using the pre-paid label. The price includes the clinical fees and processing fees, the doctor order, the return shipping label, the analysis of the blood test itself and the test result and recommendations based on your individual outcome. The lab draw fee ranges roughly between $7 to $25–depending on the lab. A consultation with a doctor providing further guidance and/or treatment based on your test result is not included, but can be booked using the QuickMD app for $75.
